Sick of swiping left on Tinder? Not having any luck at your local bar? Your next love could be closer than you think. In fact, your local Chicago gym is a great place to meet other singles. Stay ahead of the competition with these insider tips for finding love at the gym:

Grunt
Lifting a heavy weight? Make sure people are aware of this by making a loud, visceral grunting sound.

Ask a lot of questions
It’s often tough to come up with topics of conversation, but being at the gym gives you plenty of material to work with! Any of the below questions are great conversation starters, and if you can ask all of them in the same workout, you’re golden:

• How many reps do we have to do again?
• Am I doing this right?
• How long are we doing this for?
• Where’s the drinking fountain?

High five
Everyone needs a little support during their workout. Let your love interest know that you’re encouraging them every step of the way by giving out high fives every chance you get. Did they just finish a sit up? High five. Go to the bathroom? High five. Get a drink of water? High five. It’s a quick and easy way to stay on his or her radar.

Disregard personal space
How is this person supposed to know you’re interested unless you stand directly next to them? Grab your weights, and park it mere inches from where he or she is working out.

Stare
Crosstown Fitness is lucky enough to have a large mirror in the front of the room – utilize it! While you’re completing each rep, just stare at your love interest. When you finally lock eyes, quickly look away, then slowwwwly direct your gaze back at them. Repeat.
