Jessica Kilts

Jess joins us from Los Angeles, California. She’s a dynamic coach who holds certifications such as a SFG Kettlebell Level 1 Instructor, Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and Weight Loss Specialist (WLS) under the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM). She is also a NTC Nike trainer, and Powerlifting Coach.

Jess’ initial introduction to health and the human body was by way of adrenaline as an emergency medical technician at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. It was a physically demanding job and she always strove to be fit and strong. After all, moving 300-500 pound patients is no joke!

“The job was not only physically demanding, but also emotionally draining. I found working out and playing sports to be a great outlet for me through those years.”

Slowly, Jess started to think of personal training and coaching as a career path-and has never looked back. Before moving to Chicago, Jess had been training personal clients out of Los Angeles-based Muay Thai gym Function 5 Fitness, and the past year at Crosstown Fitness and Nike – where she leads classes specializing in kettlebell/barbell strength and conditioning and high intensity interval (HIIT) training.

She’s also enjoyed success as a lead coach at Beachbody – the creator of the nation’s most popular in-home fitness and weight loss products – where she led test groups such as P90, P90X3, Insanity MAX :30, and 21 Day Fix and starred in countless fitness videos, working closely with creators such as Tony Horton and Shawn T.

Over three years ago, Jess took on a new challenge by entering the powerlifting community. To date she’s three times won gold medals in California USPA competitions and a bronze medal at the national level—recording personal bests with a 260 Squat, 160 (state record) Bench, and 303.5 Deadlift.
