Physical activity increases serotonin in your brain, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate your mood, social behavior, appetite, and sleep. There is a high correlation between lack of serotonin and depression. One of the most natural ways to increase serotonin in your body is exercise. Though it may seem like an added stress in the moment, even 20-30 minutes of physical activity a day will have positive effects on your daily mood!
