September Member on the Move: Andrew Murray from CTF West Loop
What do you do from 9 to 5? I’m Director of Sales for a company that insures attorneys for legal malpractice. We work with law firms on risk and practice management and defend them in situations of allegations of wrongdoing.
When do you make time to workout? I enjoy working out and make it a priority, so I always find time which is consistently in the evenings. I generally go to the 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm classes. I’ve attempted to work out in the morning before work, then my alarm goes off and it’s just not happening. Still debating on another attempt.
What inspired you to get into CTF? Friend and CTF trainer, Sonya Latinovic, introduced me to CTF. I always worked out alone and at a slow pace, so I didn’t necessarily think I would become a regular, but I was into it from day one. Then meeting other trainers and learning their individual training and motivational styles was a game changer in my workout routine.
Tell us a fun fact about you! I was at a Wyclef concert and sitting front row. I claimed I knew the lyrics to House of Pain’s Jump Around which I don’t. He pulled me up on stage to sing it with him. I spent a good minute running from him all over the stage while he chased me around trying to hand the mic to me, then he gave up. Not a proud moment.
I like that each class is unique - lately the instructors have done a really good job of changing up formats, which I love.

I like the energy the team brings to the clients. The room does get pretty busy and at times can get difficult getting a spot. Overall, enjoy the workouts.

I love the variety that classes have you can go as hard or as light as you like and the coaches always give you options for modifications

Friendly and encouraging staff. Everything I’m looking for in a gym membership, including clean facilities, challenging environment, and fun, yet difficult, workouts that never get mundane. CTF is the place to be :)
