Jamie grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago but is a city girl at heart. She grew up playing every type of sport with basketball being her favorite. When basketball season ended for her in high school, she needed something to keep her active. She received her first group fitness certification (a dance-based certification) at age 17 and started teaching group fitness classes and working in various gyms shortly thereafter. She attended Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and studied marketing and Spanish. Jamie acquired her AFAA group fitness certification and PT certification during college and has been certified in various formats since, such as cardio kickboxing, dance, PiYo, kettlebells, and more. She has a passion for learning about nutrition and received her Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification in 2018 as well. Jamie gave up her dancing and kickboxing career as her passion developed more for group coaching and group functional fitness classes around 2012. Overall, she has been teaching for 13 years and absolutely loves being behind the mic for group classes. “I can’t imagine my life without fitness being a huge part of it. I’m so thankful to get up every morning and be able to move. I try not to take that privilege for granted, and I love teaching because it’s fun to motivate people to get that last rep or push for that final 10 seconds!”
Fun facts: She is fluent in Spanish and plays piano!
