Tell us about you goals, what inspired you to get into CTF?

Once I moved from Pittsburgh to Chicago last July, I was eager to find a gym with classes that would help me hate cardio less. In terms of goals, I strive to push myself outside of my comfort zone and learn new skills. This summer, it’s beach volleyball and softball!

What do you do from 9 to 5?

I am a Project Manager at PNC. Most recently, I have been working to implement a vendor management platform within Mortgage Operations. Professionally, most of my time is spent planning, organizing, and problem solving; the structure of classes at CTF are a great break from my usual multitasking!

When do you make time to workout?

Evening classes fit perfectly in to my work schedule! I often catch the 7:30pm class 2-3 days a week, and an afternoon class on Fridays or Saturdays.

How do your workouts at CTF keep you going in your busy professional life?

Challenging myself at CTF has been a fantastic exercise in perseverance, both physically and mentally. A great motivator for me is to see reward in progress made, especially with endurance.

What’s one goal you have inside the gym and one outside of it?

At the gym, my goal is to always challenge myself with one more rep while maintaining good form. Outside of the gym, I combine my love for travel and adrenaline by seeking out new experiences in new places— next on my list is ash boarding in Nicaragua!

Tell us about you goals, what inspired you to get into CTF.

I have been a member of CTF since the very beginning it seems like! I was looking for a new workout to add to the running and barre workouts in my current routine and after a few classes with the CTF crew I became hooked! I love mixing up my workouts and with the variety of trainers and styles it never gets repetitive.

What do you do from 9 to 5?

I actually own the Pure Barre in Bucktown! I spent the majority of my adult life in Finance and recently decided to take on Fitness full time with my friend and business partner! It’s been a crazy 2016 thus far and I am extremely excited to start this new journey.

When do you make time to workout?

That’s the tough part. 5am is kind of our thing. My days are pretty packed full; so starting the day with the 5am crew has become the routine. It took awhile; but the group of people we work out with day in and day out make it worth the early morning alarm.

How do your workouts at CTF keep you going in your busy professional life?

Getting a work out in before work really does make all the difference for me. I find that I have more energy (even after a Thursday with Tres :)) and feel better. If I work out after; it is a much needed stress reducer- even if it’s only for that one hour in the gym.

What’s one goal you have inside the gym and one outside of it?

Inside of the gym- actually a lot! Keep up with the early morning crew during one of Tres and Betina’s latest challenges. Increase my pull up reps and speed up my mile pace for starters. Outside of the gym: Transitioning to small business ownership has been quite an adventure. Making the changes needed there and being a great teacher/owner are some things I am really striving for!

Tell us about you goals, what inspired you to get into CTF.

I wanted to get to a point where in all areas I am living a healthy life. Not little spurts of exercise motivated by weight loss. Wanted to strengthen and tone muscles and learn safe, fun work outs besides running. I started doing the workouts with a fellow volunteer and was hooked. Then, I got engaged last June, so my CTF routine was an awesome part of wedding prep and much needed stress relief. The best part was, I already felt strong and in shape when I got engaged, so I didn’t have the pressure of wanting to lose weight or get in shape on top of all of the other planning!

What do you do from 9 to 5?

I do marketing and development for an awesome non-profit in Chicago, Midtown Educational Foundation. I manage their website, plan events, coordinate the Auxiliary Board of Young Professionals, and everything else under the sun because we are a non-profit. We help low income, academically average kids in Chicago get into great high schools and college. For 16 years, 100% of our seniors have graduated HS and gone on to college! The best part is, we teach character and virtue and work with the parents, which I think is the secret to our success. We also rely on about 350 volunteers to tutor and mentor the 4th-6th grade kids one-on-one, so if anyone at the gym is interested, they should email me! midtown-metro.org

When do you make time to workout?

After work and on the weekends. I have a Divvy membership and use that all the time and try to get out walking when I can’t get to the gym.

How do your workouts at CTF keep you going in your busy professional life?

It always seems counter-intuitive, but I feel like the more scheduled we are, the more we accomplish. I had a great routine when I was doing a Tues or Thurs morning class at CTF and then getting to work. Working out after work helps me unwind and switch gears to friends and home life. It also motivates me to get my work done on time, so I can leave and make it to class on time!

What’s one goal you have inside the gym and one outside of it?

Now that I am married and expecting, I want to get a new routine of healthy habits: a safe pre-natal workout, good low-sugar recipes, steady prayer life, and a good balance of keeping home organized and fun as we prepare for everything to change in a few months!!

Tell us about you goals, what inspired you to get into CTF.

I’m from the Northwest, so I grew up spending all seasons outdoors doing water- and snow-sports, trail-running and hiking. When I moved to Chicago, I wanted to find something that would help me stay in shape and challenge my body during these long winter months. My goal is to stay active into ripe old age, and to someday climb a couple of those big mountains in the mountaineering magazines!

What do you do from 9 to 5?

I’m graduating from Rush Medical College this month, and I’m very excited become a resident physician in internal medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for the next 3 years starting in June!

When do you make time to workout?

It changes month-to-month based on our rotation call schedules, but mostly evenings and weekends.

How do your workouts at CTF keep you going in your busy professional life?

I don’t think I would have the energy to be on my feet all day if it wasn’t for CTF workouts! My colleagues tell me I’m happiest when I come to work after Crosstown. It’s also great to leave the hospital knowing I get to hang out with my favorite CTF instructors and athletes, it’s something I look forward to at the end of the day.

What’s one goal you have inside the gym and one outside of it?

I’d love to do a 7-minute plank! Seems like a good physical and mental challenge. Outside the gym, my goal is to do a cycling tour across New Zealand by the time I’m 40.
